Highly honored parliamentarians of Latvian Saeima:
January 12, 2020
The Reisman Institute is a research and publication entity whose mission is to produce and use accurate data to aid in public policy decisions.
The existing definition of “family” is an organic, genetic, historic and critically proper definition of marriage and family. It excludes “same sex” persons who cannot produce children and who are (at this time) a statistically minute, shifting variety of persons whose transitory novelty precludes the safety and welfare of children.
Having firsthand experience, scientific data and societal observations about the destructive impact and results of distorting the historically stable definition of family and implementation of this distortion, we are glad to hear of the proposal to the Latvian Saeima to further improve and strengthen the definition of marriage and family in the Latvian Constitution. We strongly agree and encourage acceptance of the proposed revision:
“The State shall protect and support marriage – a union between a man and a woman, the family based on marriage, kinship or adoption, the rights of parents and children, including the rights to grow up in a family based on mother(women) and father(man). The State shall provide special support to disabled children, children left without parental care or who have suffered from violence.”
Sincerely yours,
Judith Reisman
